PHYSICAL PLANT MANAGEMENT - FIELDTRIPS

On the 30th of March, Mr Nicos Nicolaou (Lecturer in Hotel Administration) organised an educational fieldtrip to the Cyprus Electrical Authority (CEA) in Limassol (Vassilikos). The Vassilikos electrical plant is the newest electrical power plant in Cyprus. The cost of the plant approximates $200million. The trip was prepared for HA5 semester students (37) in order to gain practical knowledge on the various electrical systems used. In the beginning, the students were given a presentation by the guide regarding the operation of the overall plant. Afterwards, the students were taken for a tour around the plant to experience in practice how the various electrical equipment function.          

On the 23rd of April, HA5 semester students were taken on a fieldtrip to the CYTA corporation. The educational trip was divided into two parts. In the first part, students visited the 192 telephone directories where they were given a presentation by the operations manager. More specifically, the manager provided information on the answering of telephone calls, solving of problems, quality control and equipment used. In the second part of the fieldtrip, the students were taken to the CYTANET building where a presentation was given to them regarding the various internet services provided by the biggest internet supplier in Cyprus.
