Erasmus+ Staff Mobility - TCA Seminar Venice 2022

Transnational Cooperation Activity (TCA) – Internationalization Strategies in Higher Education – Venice, Italy.

The Transnational Cooperation Activity (TCA) has taken place in Venice, where the event was completely dedicated to the in-depth study of internationalization strategies for higher education. The College of Tourism was represented by the Erasmus officer Mr. Panagiotis Savva.

The three-day work, from 12 to 14 June 2022, at the Ca’ Foscari university in Venice was part of the initiative promoted by the Indire’s Erasmus+ Agency, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the University, the Research Center, and the French and German national agencies.

The themes addressed were:

1. The synergy between the funds and the actions of the program.

2. The adaptation processes of the territories and the study of the impact of internationalization on various areas (such as the labor market).

3. The removal of obstacles to mobility.

The aim was to select best practices and set out proposals to be submitted to the European commission, where more than 100 representatives of higher education institutions of 16 European countries, actively participating in the Erasmus+ program, contributed to the outputs and results of the discussion groups and panels of presentations.

During the event, the European research carried out by Ca’ Foscari and by Indire’s Erasmus+ national agency, entitled: The internationalization of higher education: factors of attractiveness was also presented, and besides the growing inbound and outbound Erasmus flows recorded in our country, students’ attitude regarding their destination choice was one of the most relevant factors: students chose leading regions at commercial touristic and academic level, instead of following the cooperation networks developed at academic level.
