We are pleased to announce “(Re)Claiming Our Space: Civil Society Strategies to Counter Gendered Disinformation and Technology-Facilitated Violence,” an international conference taking place on 4 March 2026 at the Classic Hotel in Nicosia, Cyprus.
As a member of the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies, and in alignment with our Gender Equality Policy, our institution is proud to support this timely initiative.
Bringing together researchers, civil society organizations, policymakers and advocates from across Europe, the conference will examine how coordinated, cross-sector action can effectively address online harms that disproportionately impact women and girls, while strengthening inclusive democratic participation in the digital sphere.
Through keynote discussions, expert panels and interactive sessions, participants will share evidence-based practices, foster strategic partnerships and advance collective responses to gendered disinformation and technology-facilitated abuse. The event further underscores the vital role of civil society as a bridge between research, policy development and lived experience, contributing to more equitable and safer digital environments for all.
